Valve brings back Short Film contest for The International 2016


DotA 2 Short Film contest is back

Valve recently announced the Short Film contest for The International 2016 event with $43,500 prize money.

The submissions of all the films must be submitted on Steam Workshop before July 26th, and after then, top ten films will be nominated in The International 2016 Battle Pass in which community will decide the best film among them via online votes. Similar to last year, top ten films will be shown during The International 2016 broadcast and each of the filmmaker will receive a guaranteed prize money of $500 from Valve. However, the top three filmmakers will get bigger amount of prize money.

Have a look at the prize money distribution below.

  • 1st: $25,000
  • 2nd: $10,000
  • 3rd: $5,000
  • 4th/10th: $500

For all those people who want to participate in the contest, make sure that the duration of the whole film must not exceed more than 1 minute. Moreover, filmmakers can work on Short Film contest via any kind of software and one filmmaker can submit multiple videos to increase his/her chances of winning the Short Film contest.
