Not so long ago the Internet was buzzing about this new Fighting Game called ‘Rising Thunder’ that takes out the hard execution and makes it a more enjoyable while still rewarding proper play over just straight out mashing. Then games like Street Fighter 5 came out and the hype about it died down a bit.

However today we bring some rather promising news to all the Fighting game fans, Riot Games have acquired Rising Thunder. For anyone who does not know what this means, Riot Games own League of Legends, which in terms of number is the biggest draw in all of the competitive gaming.

So basically, the biggest eSports company in the world just bought an up and coming fighting game. Which opens up a lot of possibilities for it and given the resources Riot Games can provide, we might as well see a worthy contender that can dethrone the likes of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat in the future. Who knows what will come out when Seth Killian and co gets proper resources to play with!

The official statement can be found below.
